Pioneers Of Country Music

Lest we forget.

Here's an interesting video. A little "something" by a young June Carter -- didn't quite catch it, but I guess it was humorous.

And then the man himself.

I don't think we fully understand the impact this man had on the world of entertainment. If you watch this video, he absolutely had charisma.

And another thing I think we don't realize is that he is influencing country music to this day. Oh yes, Eddy Arnold and Roy Acuff were the stars before he came along, but how many Eddy Arnold or Roy Acuff songs do you remember?

This guy was the real deal. And we're still paying tribute to this day, in one way or another.

I think this is fascinating, maybe because it was before my time, and I'd never seen the man perform. All I had were books that told about him, and records that naturally couldn't capture the essence of his stage presence.

So, here he is. He is NUMBER ONE in the category of PIONEERS OF COUNTRY MUSIC.
