This artist first arrived on the scene in 1972, with a song written by Tom T. Hall, "Pass Me By", released on the Mercury label. The record landed in the top ten (in my opinion, it should have gone to number one).
He subsequently had 14 consecutive number one songs, including, "Ridin' My Thumb To Mexico" and "You Always Come Back (To Hurting Me)". Other number one songs included "That's The Way Love Goes", "Just Get Up And Close The Door", and "Love Put A Song In My Heart".
"Down On The Rio Grande" was a top ten song in 1979, released on Epic Records.
So, whatever happened to Johnny Rodriguez?
